Dear Newboldians,
Yesterday we had our Harvest Festival, which was attended by parents, grandparents and friends of the Newbold School children. Each class performed a harvest related item, which they had prepared with their teachers. Every class was involved, from F1 all the way up to Year 6. The children recited poems, sang and played recorders, all to a very high standard. I can't tell you how proud I am of everyone, the children and also the staff who made it all possible; it was a fantastic team effort which was enjoyed by everyone.
Our children brought in some non-perishable items of food that were donated to Bracknell Food Bank. All fresh produce purchased for the event was given to families in need, so none of the display was wasted, which made the celebration truly meaningful. After all, just singing about how great it is to have plenty while people around us are hungry would be a redundant gesture. It's good to be part of the wider community and to do what we can to help those in need; the generosity of our parents is yet another reason why I am so proud of our school family at this harvest time.
May God bless us in times of plenty and help us to remember those around us who are less fortunate.
Mrs J Crissey
